looks like we'll have a new route announced tomorrow, and it'll indeed be on the 787. this was just tweeted:

According to the Instagram story, the new route will be from SFO.

Is this the replacement for SFO Xian which was cancelled?

IG story says ex-SFO. Inclined to believe it's PPT because the IG story polls are "beach vs mountain" and "sea turtle vs pandas" and I can't think of a mountain + panda combo other than in China and after the recent pullout on thin China routes I don't think they are about to launch a new China route.

Also French Blue just announced SFO - PPT like 2 days ago so timing would make some sense

I'd dig SFO-PPT if that was true...would probably end up using that one relatively soon as well :D BKK would probably satisfy a lot of people on this forum.

Actually. Now that I think about it, this has to be the new IAD-SHD-LWB route. It HAS to be.

SFO-PPT was rumored a few weeks ago, and I think that’s what we will see. Stay tuned for LAX.
