I browsed this thread and felt that it had absolutely no effect on me. Then realized that I've only been on the dark 739 for the last few months
May be this commercial is the UA's way of justifying going "dark" on all its non-p.s. narrow bodies

At the risk of taking this thread on a tangent, flying 4 LH flights over the last two weeks, I found myself wondering what I hate more: The Barracuda commercial or that strange 10-second LH commercial of the guy standing over a grill in plaid shorts with a hot dog speared on a grill fork. Between totally not getting the ad, the weird chords that accompany it, and it being such a weird amount of time that I can never manage to fast forward over it, I recalled this thread.

It is an important point that you bring up though. While Barracuda Vulnerabilities may be annoying (and super catchy), many other airlines have much more infuriating advertisements. Air Canada has about five car/tourism commercials before you are allowed to browse the entertainment.
