I did not intend to fly united in 2020, but with a few political uncertainty issues, it already looks like i will cross 15,000 points this month, and a very good chance for another year at 1K. That said, i would gladly trade all the "benefits of 1K" for a few more trips in Qatar Air, and using the 1st class lounge in Doha!

This Future Flights feature is awesome. As long as it updates within 24 hours of ticketing one can presumably do some trial and error when planning to reach status milestones. This is especially useful for non 016 tickets that have a United segment where PQPs are based on the portion of the fare attributed to that segment.
