I am at 103,770 miles but PQD is $6235. I purposely booked two BR itineraries this year so I will drop to Platinum (with Chase waiver) in 2018. Decided going fro $12K is not worth it for me. I will have more freedom to fly on *A next year.

laxmillenial - at this point, anything that gets me to 100,000 is fair game. I will often buy up to a higher fare if that is more cost-effective. If I see P or higher at less than 2X S or lower, I will usually take it. That said, I fly to the west coast often and don't mind that at all.

I just bought my last flight of the year (no more work travel, so this is a pure dollars run). I'll be at 111,000 PQM, but my PQD will finish right on the nose at $12,000 :-)

I am going to get it by 700 miles, but only by up faring on my return home this week. If not for Z and P fare double PQMs, I wouldn't have made it. Least travel for me in 5 years and my boss is encouraging it so I don't get burned out.

105,012 PQM. $12,009 PQD
Interesting side note: I was scheduled to take "the last" 747 flight ICN-SFO, which would have been my 2 million mile flight. I bought a 6K ticket, which was refunded when they pulled the rug out with the HNL run. UA would have had an extra 5K in PQM.

I'm 800 miles short of 1K, with a non-refundable FC ticket coming up for travel this weekend that would put me over the top. Called and requested pre-emptive bump to 1K for next year so I could push 2 unused GPU into February and redeem for two trips just purchased today. Denied - was told no until the flight next Sunday posts....but was thanked for being a loyal 1K and Million Miler
Update: saw the R space on my flights starting to go, so called back and got a new supervisor who was super nice, super helpful and willing to bump the two GPUs into 2018 after verifying my flight next weekend, so I could redeem them, and a happy result in the end. He seemed shocked I didn't use any of the GPUs this year at all, but truth be told, I've cut my flying by 50% and just buy P/Z fares domestic and international and end up with the same PQM at the end of the year with 99% fewer hassles and problems and no more upgrade worries.
