Why / When would you like to use a shower at a UA lounge / club?

Presently for UCs, only the C123 EWR UC has showers
All the Polaris lounges have showers
The SFO T2 MLL has showers

Reported the new DEN UC will have showers and showers will be introduced at hub UCs when remodeled

My wife was the same way. Thought the concept of an airport shower was gross and wondered why I would do it in IAH/EWR when the merger happened. Then she flew long haul flights on Emirates, British Airways and Singapore in F and had access to shower suites. She has since changed her tune.

Although my wife wasn't opposed in doctrine to airport showers, she was a little puzzled by the concept, but after a few long hauls through shower-accessible lounges she's on board with the idea. And she is always looking for reasons to criticize UA, so she'll need no second invitation to see the showers removal as a problematic decision.

Hello all. I have flights through EWR in January. (all UA, Terminal C). Is there any paid shower option via reaching another terminal. I guess that may be difficult as non-UA terminals at EWR cannot be accessed airside (am i right?)???

Yeah,

Nothing beats a shower after a red-eye to Europe, especially when we next have to crawl on a train or grab a car and drive 5-6 hours to our actual destination.

Cheers,

What's the deal on the new Polaris lounge at SFO, I thought I heard there WOULD be showers there? This was probably commented on up thread so I apologize in advance.

Thanks, I am SFO based I basically never use the showers there but it is nice to see that when the new Polaris lounge opens at least people will have that option.

That is a good question. All I know is that, when I was there last month, I was told they were no longer available. I imagine this is a staffing issue.

I believe this has to do with maintaining the consistency of United Club (No Shower) vs Polaris (Showers) even though some clubs still have the shower rooms (Houston Terminal C South) but no longer offer shower amenities. I was there at the SFO IPL, the GS rep that escorted me there had advised me so.

Awesome. Let's maintain consistency by eliminating amenities so that all UCs are equally crappy.

By this logic, UA should never have maintained showers at EWR, ORD, and IAH. But they did for years and it was a big plus when connecting or arriving at those airports.

assuming what you are saying is true, wow. sad. enhanced scrapped because of consistency. i thought hte brand consistency was that the uc gives you a towel, but polaris gives you the saks fifth av towels.

Funny! Yes I agree as well...... it is easy to ensure all amenities are equal according to the least common denominator.

Yup. It is sad for me that they are eliminating it. I remembered those days that connecting via EWR, ORD and IAH and having a shower after flying 8+ hours was something that I always look forward, ORD shower had always been in the GFL (but now converted to Polaris) but was offered whenever you requested at the UC. IAH is at both E (in process of conversion to Polaris) and C (stopped offering when I asked this past thus). I believed UC at EWR 120 is in the midst of conversion.

EWR Terminal C lounge with showers

I understand that one of the EWR lounges in Terminal C is closed for renovations. Are there any United Clubs in Terminal C that have showers?
