ETA: I'd forgotten a point I made earlier; QF flies a much less dense configuration than UA. So, yeah, UA would probably have to block a bunch of seats to make this work.
With the approved QF/AA JV, they promised to add at least three new routes within two years. These are the first two, even though the SFO flight is really just a shift of 3x weekly flights from LAX. I wouldn't be surprised for the last one to be SYD-SEA or MEL-DFW (long, but shorter than PER-LHR). Both SYD/MEL-LAX are 9x weekly and QF could simultaneously reduce one of those to daily while adding another 3x/4x weekly flight to add a new route without adding too much capacity.
With SFO-MEL only being 3x weekly and MEL having higher demand than BNE, something that would be interesting would be bumping SFO-MEL to 4x weekly and adding 3x weekly SFO-BNE to give double daily service to Australia. However, LAX-BNE is a larger market than SFO-BNE and UA has LAX as their primary Australia gateway, so LAX-BNE is probably more likely than SFO-BNE.

As for a third route, MEL-DFW seems like a good guess. AA doesn't have an awful lot of lift at SEA, so unless there's a ton of SYD-SEA local traffic, I don't see that being a huge win for QF.

As someone with relatives in Wisconsin, I'd love to see a SFO-ATW or GRB flight; the MSN flights are a longer drive for us and always quite expensive.
I'll echo others in this thread that a SFO-BKK flight would be amazing. Work frequently brings me to south China, so a CAN or SZX flight would be great. While not on my travel pattern, so many of my friends commute SFO-BLR in J it's hard to believe a nonstop would not make bank.

I'd ask for a EWR to STX, St Croix in the USVI. The United EWR to STT flights are always full and it's a pain getting from St. Thomas to St. Croix by plane or boat. Ton's of investment is going on in the USVI's, after the two hurricanes of 2017 and the reopening of the refinery on St Croix. The fact that I own a house there might also have something to do with my request.

MSN-IAD (or DCA but that doesn't seem likely, especially with DL already flying it)

With the 788 refit dropping J seats, am I silly to hope for IAD-NBO? (Of course I would love ORD-NBO but admit IAD or EWR makes more sense.)

With gates potentially opening up at EWR, Terminal A, would like to see:
EWR-BDL
and
EWR-AVP
re-instated.

As I mentioned once before, my son was once put in a taxi (paid for by United) with one other passenger AVP to EWR, after accepting a $500 offer to not fly an overbooked AVP-EWR flight.
Still made his connection in EWR and it was a relaxing drive, according to him...he slept most of the way!

ORD-DEL probably could be done by a 772, and it would fit in with Ua’s strategy of adding routes from hubs to existing destinations. Not sure if they’d do it, though - I feel like ORD has gotten neglected on new international routes for some time (e.g. a bit surprised ORD-TLV has not been launched).
I think ORD-BOM would be more complicated given the geographic routing + no 787s based in ORD.

The extreme temperatures at DEL would be another potential issue. They might be able to make ORD-DEL, but I'm not sure they could make it back without a technical stop to refuel -- and there aren't exactly a lot of great choices along that route. I'm not sure UA wants to stop for fuel in Novosibirsk or Iqaluit.

I think I've suggested this before but it's crucial to have United offer SFO-DUB. Aer Lingus is not acceptable.
