CI (China Airlines, Taiwan-based) is starting TPE-ONT.

I in Houston now. So life is not bad. But work/life will take me back to Florida sooner or later.

It will never happen. But I would love to see the old UA in MIA hub. Or the old CO intra Florida service.

Between AA having MIA on lock down and the of the state flooded with alliagaint & spirit safe to say this will never happen 😕
Edit- I do miss when CO flew to Bali. It is bit of shame the meger happen before we know what plans were for CO LAX 788/738 base. I think a year or two more and it could have played very diff.

Looks like EWR-PQI is a new route in the Hemispheres map. Looks like they won an EAS contract to replace BOS-PQI service on KS. Apparently BHB service may also be in play, although I’m not sure if UA submitted a bid (or if they’d want to, since their relatively new EWR-BGR route undoubtedly would see traffic cannibalized by flying to BHB as well).

What nonstop route do you wish United would have?

This follows a similar thread at Delta and American.
Which nonstop route(s) do you wish American would (re)start?
What (nonstop) route do you wish Delta would really have?

Let me begin...

SFO-LGA Saturday service. Complies with the perimeter rule. Could be

UA SFO-LGA 0830-1645
UA LGA-SFO 0900-1200

Wouldn't be the same plane, obviously.

Want SFO-BOM/DEL to match EWR.

Plus of course SFO-BKK
and the usual LAX-HKG

And why not SFO-Fiji

Saturday SFO-LGA service.
UA has some SFO feed. If it works, then LAX-LGA could be tried.

How about SFO-SLN-LGA, SLN being Salina, Kansas which has United Express service and a very long runway. Price it so there would be no SLN passengers and the plane either touches and go in Salina or overflies it. Alternatively, it could be priced so SLN passengers board to go to LGA but no SFO passengers leave, thus not having a security risk. On the return, price it so there are no LGA-SLN passengers but only SLN passengers boarding to SFO. LGA-SLN passengers could fly a LGA-ORD/ORD-SLN route.

I don't see how just overflying the airport would be allowed given the perimeter rule. The "touch and go" idea is interesting but I'm guessing they'd have to properly land and then take off again to meet the spirit and letter of the rule. And getting enough people on board for that funky routing, especially when there's a chance of a ground delay program at LGA stranding passengers in central Kansas rather that a major airport, seems quite a challenge.

Even if it wasn't a touch and go but a landing and turn around and take off in 3 minutes would almost be like a non-stop. That could be done daily except Saturday. Or they could, if required, do a quick turnaround, like 15 minutes at the gate. If there's a ground delay, then they could land at EWR.

The basic theory is UA would be the only practically non-stop SFO-LGA flight. It doesn't have to be Salina, Kansas but that has so little traffic that there wouldn't be any ground delay at the stop. There wouldn't have to be an hour stop either.

If touch and go was allowed, the stop could be ORD but priced so high that nobody would get off or board at ORD for the LGA flight. Then, the flight could be diverted and actually touch and go in Rockford, IL (RFD) or other airport where there's no ATC delay.

SFO/LAX - Eastern Europe (ATH, IST, DBV)... really need competition with TK from the west coast

UA would be much more likely to start those routes from the East Coast (EWR) before adding them to SFO. As for ATH, which already flies from EWR - a bit surprised they haven’t contemplated adding IAD or ORD during the summer.
