RPU on HKG-GUM

I have previously used an RPU on HKG-GUM route. Now, 1K states not allowed, although CPU availability is listed on itinerary. Has this routing been remived from regional availability?

Have your tried online to apply RPU?

I haven't been able to RPU on that route for over a year (nor on GUM-HNL). UA changed its rules. However, on HKG-GUM, there's still CPU, which doesn't make sense, since that's truly an int'l flight!

Most regional international flights allow CPU. Think of all the us-Canada/Mexico flights.

But the issue here is "all" other CPU flights are RPU-eligible.

Interesting if there is a change. I've used an RPU between TYO-GUM as recently as September 2016. The chart WineCountryUA pointed out seems to indicate that both TYO and HKG to GUM "should" be RPU'able. They've always counted as Oceania flights before.

A quick check shows NRT-GUM presently will work with a RPU at booking.

Could not find a R>0 case for HKG-GUM to check if RPU would work at booking.

I just applied a RPU to MNL-GUM & GUM-NRT & they worked. Maybe they changed their rules for Mainland China.

That's interesting, if true. As of last week I was able to apply an RPU to a GUM-HKG segment without much issue. Hope it's just a bug...

Yes, garykung. The original ticket needed to be changed manually because of an IRROP, hence the upgrade attempt was done manually. I pulled the RPU and had it deposited into my account, then online was successfully able to upgrade (request) on the HKG-GUM segment. All is well. Might I see once again see you on another GUM-HKG flight anytime soon?

Hong Kong is not in mainland China, nor is it even in the same region as China in the United regions chart.

Any updates on this route recently? Looking at booking it next week and have a few RPUs to blow. Seems like it should be an easy CPU too, right? Can't imagine there's too many 1Ks flying 737s from HKG to Guam.
