Polaris seat on 772? -- swap to 77W?
1 Attachment(s)
I'm flying EWR-PEK (UA89 on a 772) tomorrow and went to check my seat assignment, I noticed the seat map showed the Polaris seat icon. Hopefully this isn't a glitch! I thought the conversion of the 772 was going to take place later this year if not next year?

There are no 777-200s with the new seats.
Looks like you will have a new 777-300 with the new seats. |

Grab one of those odd number seats before it's too late (except 7A unless you don't mind the galley noise & light)!

Congrats! You got lucky.
Looks like UA has taken delivery of more 777-300ERs than they need for the schedule, so they've been subbing these in on all sorts of 777-200 routes. I am guessing once the additional routes (SFO-TPE, SFO-PEK and EWR-NRT) start later this year, the swaps will be reduced. So you got super lucky. |

The plus is they also end up in the domestic rotation too, I got a swap out from SFO-EWR yesterday on one. I had looked for this aircraft when I booked the flight a couple months ago but ended up with a 757. It was a nice surprise and now the 7 month in a row I got a ER flight on that route.
In the back, not so much. A change to 10 across in Y would leave me ticked. |

Yes, it does show now on the flight status that it's the 777-300. But clicking into the actual seat map shows 777-200 with the new configuration.

If you are up front, sure - that is a good swap.

Definitely agree about the odd rows, and I had done some research on the blogs about which seats to go for, for my inaugural Polaris hard product flight. Great advice out there ! |

UA automatically put me and my SO in 12DG but I changed it to 17DG. Sure looks like a lot of people traveling together are on the flight (looking at the lack of open DG seats and plenty of single seats) |
How many emergency exits are shown on the diagram? 772 has 4 per side, 77W has 5, one being an overwing.

Equipment Sub or App glitch?
Flying 29 Sep SFO-EWR UA 726. Original config is Hawaii lie flat 772. But on United App, seatmap is for 77W, and allows me to choose a seat that does not exist on 772. .bomb shows 772. Which one is wrong?
