The Premier accelerator purchased via an existing itinerary's award accelerator will be a better value in most cases. Where an offer like this may be of use is if one is short a few thousand PQMs.

My husband and I are both under 1,000 PQM to silver and got the same offer as the OP. I have the PP card, so my PQD are waived, but his are not, and the purchase does not count toward PQD. If I don't fly UA again this year, I can just use the points from PP.
In other words, no deal. I may have if he would get PQD, but this way, it's just throwing money away. He's about $1200 from that requirement.

That's my offer, too. Too bad as I'm planning to buy some to ensure I requal for Platinum next year. Will go back to tracking the offers on my reservations, which are all consistently in the $.12 range.

Presumably someone must buy these offers or they wouldn't bother making them. Maybe if you were about to book a large group of people into E+ then buying up to Platinum for the 8 companions could make sense? That's potentially a big $ saving.

Expensive Offer!
I'm at 36,253 PQM and $6,055 PQD, so I'm not worried about the spend portion.
But my rates aren't great either:
1,000 PQM / 1 PQS - $170
...
...
15,000 PQM / 15 PQS - $2,250
I'm mostly confident that I'll hit Gold this year, so it seems like this will not be worth it for me.

I went to my father's status progress page today and saw an offer to buy PQM/PQS. Rates are pretty bad though, I wonder if the rates vary. Promotion is targeted, trying the same url on my account shows that I'm not eligible.

For a TATL J ticket I just booked I'm being offered 30K RDM @ 2 cpm and 30K PQM @ 10 cpm. Much better than the 17 cpm rate I'm offered by this promotion.
Not that I'd pay $600 for a domestic saver R/T + 20%, and as Kacee showed, $2400 would get over 21K PQM and 2 nice trips to Boston, vs. $3000 for 30K from the accelerator. I guess if you don't want to fly more maybe it's worth it...but then again, why would you be chasing status?

Wow, is it possible that I'm getting a "good" deal here (please note the quotes!)
I wonder if it's because I'm only at 16 PQS right now, whereas by this time the past couple years, I've been closing in on 50 PQS.

Your offer of $140 per 1000 PQMs seems to be the lowest priced of all posted here.

I actually think I'll be about 5K short on PQM this year and 2K over on PQD. Its offering $850. For that price, I think I'd rather do a MR if it comes down to it.

I should also note, I've been getting the offer since mid/late spring. Amount has not changed.... still is 1800.00 for 15000
