Standby Question
Quick Question about flying employee standby: when flying out of an international destination, you have to pay a fee on UAs website (immigratation/customs fee?) to book standby passes. If you don't get on that flight as a standby, will you get refunded that fee by UA or is it a sunk cost? Some places it's a pretty rough fee 60-70 USD
thanks

Probably best asking your employer.

OP - All of the details are in instructions which your "buddy" employee has and should provide to you.
Call your "buddy" and ask him. Don't rely on anything else because things change all the time.

I thought there was an employee website/portal where you can get this kind of information?

Since the advice in posts 2, 3, 5, and 6 above is the only reliable way of getting the right answer, I'll close this thread. Ocn Vw 1K, Co-Moderator, United forum.
