Landed at in C gates....
We arrived at the Polaris lounge as someone else (Will post in other thread). Took a while to get in, was an absolute MADHOUSE, mrs and I did a prompt about turn and headed over to Senator Lounge, used the shower downstairs, 100% functional just extraordinarily dated, Room was spacious, which helps. Always hate having to cram into a tiny shower room w/ a suitcase.

And I agree, space and air temperature are important in the rooms!

important updates
I visited all 3 UA lounges on August 9. Discovered two important updates:
- The shower in the TK Lounge is out of service. No date for re-opening;
- The showers (2) in LH lounge are spacious and well equipped. Lower level;
I also discovered there is a 2nd level to the TK Lounge with seating for 12.

We found that the bar area was the best place to find decent seating in the mornings. This was for a departure on the morning ET flight (ET501 at 10:30). We were there from something like 08:45 to 10:00.

C4 is indeed open and I am sitting in it right now. Nice to be back here! The hours are 2-7pm and it is about 25% full. The other IAD UC thread also needs its wiki updated. Thanks!

Rolling to the TK lounge today I noticed the forthcoming Capital One Lounge looked very close to completion. Wandered up towards it for a minute and it had a sign of closed for a private event.
In the TK lounge it was mentioned that the Cap One lounge would open in a week and would be operated by the same company (Prime Class).
Now to figure out where to best update the appropriate threads with Cap One reviews.

Have a 6 hour layover at IAD on 2 UA domestic segments and have UA Gold & UC membership.
The best *Gold lounge would be either the TK business or LH senator? With such a long layover is it worth checking out both? My layover is during the evening so my plan is to eat dinner in the lounge as I doubt I will get upgraded on the IAD-SFO flight. Also, is there often a wait for the LH lounge's showers?
Last time I flew through IAD was pm UA and I didn't have status back then either.

Just a small correction that the Senator Lounge is located upstairs while the Business Lounge is located downstairs at the Lufthansa Lounge in IAD.
