RPU / PlusPoints non-Polaris flight upgrade SUCCESS (thru 2019)
After searching for a thread and not finding it after more time than normal, starting a RPU success thread.
Route: ORD-BOS
Plane: 737-900
When applied: at booking, 3 weeks before flight
When cleared: 2 days after applying
# of passengers: 3
Booking class: T
Elite ?: Yes, 1k
I'm fired up as I thought without splitting up the PNR 3 people wouldn't clear. Boom 2 days after applying we are very satisfied.

RPU success Sun 5/28 (day before Memorial Day)
UA319 IAD-LAX B739 cleared T-20 days
UA517 SFO-IAD B739 cleared T-24h (at about F8)
UA 1K, G-fare
Both flights had empty seats in F, so CPU waitlist would have cleared. SFO has all those ATC delays (due to runway construction), so not surprised if they hold F inventory as long as they can, to protect inbound international pax. But if I was them, I wouldn't clear CPU until boarding...which they didn't do. So a bit hard to explain.

Happiness is... finally clearing at T-24 on what I believe is United's longest route with bog - standard Domestic F:
ORD-ANC
737-800
Booked W 4 weeks out
Applied at booking
Finally cleared at T-24h
1K.
6.75 hours is a long time to be in Y! They seem to hold out seats pretty aggressively for upsells at check-in on this route.

My success this year so far:
EWR-LAX (Friday 6/16, 8:15 PM departure). Booked in March, cleared 6 weeks out
BTV-EWR (Monday 9/4): cleared at booking on E175. Yes, know this is kind of a waste, but I don't think I have enough flights left to clear my wife's RPUs...so why not?
