First Class Award Availability To Hawaii

On Tuesday when United announced 40 additional flights per day to Hawaii starting in December, I check for FC availability for awards and there were saver award space for FC almost every day in March and April. When I checked Wednesday morning there were no FC saver awards available. Did they all get snapped up in a few hours or were they withdrawn?

Perhaps the response to United's press release on 40 daily flights to the islands wasn't adulatory enough on FT, in which case they withdrew the Saver space to punish us? If I contributed to this by pointing out that UA's enhanced service to LIH is actually below past peaks, I beg forgiveness.

Flights probably loaded before award inventory management kicked in. Looks like normal coach saver awards are available on non-peak days.

Pretty typical for UA to mistakenly release more award space than it normally would when a new flight is loaded in the schedule.

This. They wake up and pull the inventory later - it's probably why flights at the end of schedule are auto-loaded F9 A0 J9 C0 Y9 B9 M0.

That must have been what happened. I did manage to book (and fly) three saver awards to OGG for February 2018 when I first saw them. Just dumb luck.
