two FFP fields on same booking?

Hi, I found out from NZ that they can put two FFPs on my itinerary, one to indicate status and one for mileage earning: "Kiwi Flyer: The 2 FFP fields are FQTS (for status benefits) and FQTV (for mileage earning)."

Is this unique to NZ, or is it something that UA can do as well? I'm about to hit Elite on NZ and so am going to start earning on UA, but I don't want to lose the convenient stuff like Premier Access etc.

I posted about this in the UC access thread, and people said to bring an NZ Elite card to the UC. But I'm not sure what will happen for other benefits like Premier Access so wondered if this is something that UA can do too.

currently, no.

There is a history though - pre-merger, UA had the capability, though, IME, had to be done with an agent, and a good one at that, as not all knew how to handle. IIRC, this capability was removed at some point, I believe prior to the merger. There's a thread on it somewhere.

That said, best way to do it is to indeed add the number you'll be collecting on, and being the elite one with you to get most of the benefits. It's not always easy, and you won't be able to use automated methods to get them. You'll also need agent to override things like bag fees. Further, there are some reports of lounge agents insisting on having the elite FF number on your reservation before letting you in. Either that, or you can use the NZ card on the reservation, then just having the GaA change it before boarding.

Got it — thanks for this information.

Do you happen to know if a gate agent can add something like Premier Access to my ticket? Basically I have very limited use of *G benefits, but I use them always: I usually don't check bags, so usually have a large carryon (so boarding in an early group is important) and I'm always on a 24-30 hour trip (so UC access is really helpful). It sounds like UC access is easy as long as I bring my NZ*G/NZ*E card and show it to the UC agent. Is there something similar I could do for Premier Access?

Which airport do you want to fly out of? Ex-Europe I've never had an issue presenting my *G card to use the premier line even if it isn't connected to the ticket. I bet something similar would work at most UA hubs (though I could be wrong).

Usually BOS and hubs en route to SFO/LAX/IAH which are NZ's departure points. Sounds like I should just give it a try...
