739 with no E+?
1 Attachment(s)
This is on LAX-BOS in June. Doesn't appear to have any extra space your normally see on the map for E+ seats. Anyone have an idea what's going on here? Don't want to book if not guaranteed E+.
|
When no E+ seats are empty and the map doesn't have to draw any blue seats, the map ends up looking like this. Based on the E- row 12 seat, you're looking at one of the 739's that's E+ in rows 7-11, and 20-21, all of which are full.
So, even though the map isn't drawn right, I still wouldn't book since E+ is full on that flight. |

David p.s. and earn an additional 593 PQMs (or more depending on fare class booked) one way p.p.s. missed that one of the LAX-BOS flights is a "direct" flight from LAX-SFO-BOS (same flight number) - so you wouldn't get the +593 PQMs |

P.S. The superior frequencies at SFO are entirely due to UA's suffocating presence here. I would trade the situation at LAX, with five robust domestic competitors, for the situation at SFO (one, soon to be two, domestic choices) in a heartbeat, even if it meant fewer frequencies on a specific airline between SFO and BOS. |

And the OPs seat map looks like what SeatGuru calls the 739 v3. I'd actually consider booking it if the flight was within a week, because a bunch of E+ are going to empty as people upgrade into the empty F seats. You might also get a reasonable F buyup offer. This far out I'd probably hesitate because the F seats could fill enough that little or no E+ empties (though I've been lucky in virtually always getting an E+ seat, even as a silver) |

Thanks -- will steer clear of this. Probably will fly through SFO with the amount of frequency from there (want more @ LAX)!
Flying in/out of SFO is awesome. |

Yeah, I'd like to see more UA LAX-BOS non-stops just to get more PQM, since for the next couple years I'll be doing a lot of trips to BOS, but I've just started splitting my RTs across airlines. There are enough flights total across multiple airlines that it's not so bad.
AA flies 5x/day B6, VX and DL all fly 3x/day |

It would really be nice for an increase in LAX-BOS frequency, especially with flatbeds. It's a long domestic flight, especially westbound. I get restless in F, so in this case, E- does not appeal to me.

think theres a version where 12 ABC are E+ (But DEF isn't), and then another where all of 12 is E-. So could be either, I think.

AA flies 5x/day B6, VX and DL all fly 3x/day Best roulette I can suggest is get on one of the early weekday flights to SFO and then take your pick of what plane has the best seating to BOS - that's going to be the only way you'll have even an opportunity to buy up, upfare or apply an RPU to get into an IPTE seat. Also, if you prefer/desire the bigger 772s as well to have more room to move around, these only fly the SFO-BOS route. Stay on the LAX-BOS route only if you a) like 739s (and no IPTEs) and b) don't want to play the SFO roulette games. David |

I'm not seeing any 752s on the LAX-BOS route. Only on SFO-BOS.

For me, it already takes long enough to get LAX-BOS, between getting to LAX and getting an hour west of BOS when I get there, so I'll take a non-stop on a 739 over a change in SFO with the extra time and chance of weather delays. |

I try to avoid redeyes as ~5hrs wheels up/down is just brutally short for me, but I suppose I might try to go through SFO in that case for a flatbed.
