I would say they just found a smaller model. No sense doing it in post.

HA! I doubt they made her look small, she looks quite petite to me. Probably 5'2 or 5'3ish.

I think your underlying question is if UA is making Y look more roomy by playing with scale which is "Yes".

I think the worst is the SQ J or F pics where it looks like the model what shot in studio and they used a digital design of the seat.

her head doesnt even go above the head rest

Almost certainly a combination of

• small model
• forced perspective of being in the furthest seat from the camera
• this is Economy Plus

We also can't even see her other foot, she may not be able to reach the floor. ;)

Additionally, larger windows on the Dreamliner also impact the perspective.

+1...also notice the headrests are extended so as to make the seat appear larger compared to the model and take up more of the photo frame.

you don't suppose airlines and aircraft and seat manufactures see us passengers as all tiny people? (or at least hope we are all that tiny so they can squeeze more people in?

No, but putting someone who is tiny in the seat in order to make the seat look bigger than it is, is deceptive.
