UA/*A lounge situation at MIA?

Is there any Club Access at MIA with a United Club Membership and a Domestic First Class Ticket? Thanks in advance.

I do not recall seeing a United Club in the concourse where UA flights operate out of in MIA.

IIRC, AV has a lounge. But I don't thinks its near UA's gates (maybe even a different terminal).

And 764toHI is correct, there is no UC at MIA.

I was there a few weeks ago -- there's no club and the terminal isn't that great IMO. There are a few small shops post security. Precheck lite only.

If I have a few minutes to kill, i'd spend it outside of security.

Technically, no. There is an Avianca VIP Lounge in Concourse J, but it's a 3rd party lounge, not *G. There are reports of *G members being allowed in, but no confirmation of whether or not an Int'l boarding pass was needed. YMMV.

There is a Centurion lounge (Concourse D) if you have the Centurion or Plat AMEX card.

Nothing in the crappy concourse UA uses. Clear security twice...

Others have suggested http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...rs-access.html -- different terminal

Avianca is the Star Alliance lounge @ MIA

Whoa, I did use the Avianca lounge @ MIA a few weeks ago, accessing it with my MP Gold card. I had no problem at all getting in.

Its a great lounge:
- 2 computers in the biz centre c/w printer;
- charging station for IPhones, etc.
- very good food, decent coffee & Seagram's soda water.

Avianca VIP Lounge in J is, as stated, definitely a VIP Lounge branded 3rd party operated contract lounge. However, they do have an entry policy allowing *G pax there, and as stated above, all you need is the *G card. Possibly your boarding pass if you want it to be recorded for reminder, etc.

It's exactly like how all "VIP Lounges" work under that company brand, except this one is unique that it allows *G flyers through. (must be from some special negotiation.)

The only unknown, is that whether they follow the general *G guesting policy or not.

If you have Priority Pass (select or others) then you have access to this as well, each with different guesting privileges.

Domestic First Class never gives lounge access.

The issue may be the physical *G card because it is a third-party lounge. Yet another reason to always carry the card, whether you believe it ought to be necessary or not. Doesn't have to be in your wallet, but somewhere you can locate it for the specific purpose.

It's always necessary in my opinion to carry your elite card(s).
