a silly mileage annoyance

just looking at my miles. on an international paid business class fare. one segment is domestic, and the way the dollars are allocated, i earn less miles than i woudl if it was based on distance. significantly. so miles/dollar in this one case didn't get me more when buying business. actually the international leg as well, same issue. it was $900 one way so less than 10k RDM. and it would have been about 14k RDM if based on distance. oh no, it owuld be more. that's just the GS 100% bonus. with fare class bonus, it would be like 17k RDM. i think.

Sometimes it works for you, sometimes it works against you. But the grass is no greener anywhere else, so what can you do?

That should teach you to pay more for the ticket.

I got more PQM on an international trip recently than RDM. Happens these days a fair bit, even in paid premium cabin (especially paid premium when in discount F).

I think keisari meant the opposite.

I was trying to be sarcastic.
You are paying more and getting less.
Should have included one of the faces to add a sarcastic tone.

You can earn 400% to 600% Alaska miles flying partner F fares on EK, BA, QF, JL, KE or CX.

How does a GS pay <$1000 for a >7000mi flight in paid biz?
