Purchase Miles (RDMs) sales / discounts / bonuses [Consolidated 2015]

Purchase Miles (RDMs) sales / discounts / bonuses [Consolidated 2016]

Alternative - Award / Premier Accelerator Purchase / Personal Miles is always available and is "easiest" method; however, even with one of the regular sales / discounts / bonus promotions, it generally is more expensive than Award Accelerator. Miles are available in increments of 1,000 up to a maximum of 100,000 miles, and in increments of 5,000 up to a maximum of 150,000 miles. And there is an annual limit of 150,000 miles per account per calendar year.

Award Accelerator is generally cheaper (2.0 to 2.6 cpm is typical) but the rate varies. There is no annual limit but the offered quantities (usually 2 offers) are fixed per itin and requires the purchaser to have an active reservation to get an offer. The quantity offer is loosely related to the mileage of the itinerary. The reservation can be cancel after purchasing the miles. See the above Accelerator threads for more.

Not sure if it's targeted but it's not such a great deal anyways.

Tag line is "Where will you travel in 2017? Get there with up to 50% bonus miles."

So if you buy over 25k, you get 50% bonus.

The most is 100k miles plus 50k bonus for $3500. Doesn't indicate if there are taxes but I didn't try to buy.

Even without taxes, it's 2.33 cpm.

I'm not in the market since I have a lot of UR points but at least make it enticing ...

Way too expensive. Last Lifemiles sale came down to 1.25 cents or even less if I recall correctly. And those you can even use, contrary to MP where availability is pretty dry recently.

1.9 to 2.0 cpm is pretty much the best that UA has offered via these sales or Award Accelerator.

Miles in one program are not 1:1 equivalent to miles in another.

Certainly the latter is correct. I was only trying to say that I found the UA deal even with the 50% bonus not especially exiting. Maybe it's good for topping off, but if someone wants to purchase an award ticket and has the time and patience then I suggest wait for a sale from a different carrier, like AV. My opinion only and exclusively for International travel.

"Mystery" bonus offer on miles

Got an email.

Goes to page offering up to 80% bonus if you buy 30k or more miles.

It's 1.944 cpm so nothing groundbreaking.

Anyone get more than 80%?
