Under the "Aircraft" tab, all currently existing routes serviced by the new 773 (SFO-HKG, EWR-TLV and SFO-NRT are listed) are listed as well as (yet to be converted) 763 and 772 types. For the 763 the listed starting date is "Fall 2017." For the 772 the webpage states "Winter 2017," which sounds optimistic to me as it sounds more like 4th quarter of 2017 than the previously announced first quarter of 2018. Zodiac's output of Polaris seats for all three aircraft types must be ultra smooth by now, if United wants to stick with its predictions. Can't wait to see the first converted 763 in mid July...

Dear XXXXX:
No announcement has been made to let us know when additional United
Polaris lounges will be opening. We are still renovating some of the
locations. Our United Premium Cabin Lounges page on our website will be
updated once the dates are announced. I've included the link for you
below.

There's no doubt that the expectations have not matched the timing. For all the market research that went into what people wanted, it sure seems like they dropped the ball on making sure they could execute and deliver.

So there isn't a single lounge opening in 2017.... And the first lounge won't open until 18 months after ORD's lounge opened.

Wow.

I spoke with *someone* in leadership at IAH last week and was told February 2018 is the target for the IAH Polaris lounge, which will occupy the third floor of the E lounge complex, formerly the upper level of the United Club. The main level of the United Club has been renovated, to have a higher capacity than before with larger seating areas. Opening should be very soon.

Unless they are converting some space formerly not open to the public on the third floor of the existing E UC, how is that Polaris lounge not going to be too small from the beginning?

And again - how do they go over one year without opening a second Polaris location????

As someone relocating from Chicago to NYC, the loss of the Polaris Lounge until next summer is very disappointing.

To build them right from the start this time. Little doubt that adjustments based on the ORD lounge shortcomings delayed the others.

I would share the same concern. Though I suspect IAH will have less Polaris eligible customers than ORD, EWR, SFO, or IAD, since many of its international traffic (non-Polaris latin america) won't qualify.

TONS of *A will

LH
EVA
CA
ANA
SA

*A will probably account for more traffic than United, especially because the contract lounge is pretty bad and shared among everyone almost

A year? It took a year to revise their plans? Doesn't speak well for their planning department.

If IAH has fewer Polaris customers than the other hubs, why is it being converted ahead of those that have more demand?

I just booked my first flight with Polaris seat, to be done in January (EWR-NRT).

But from what I am seeing on the Web site, basically it is a very similar seat as to what AC and AA offers. And JL too. Among others.

Is the food really better? Or is the thing so special is the bedding by Sak's? I mean, a blanket is a blanket, and a pillow is a pillow, I don't care much about the branding, I care whether it is clean and soft...

Don't want to sound jaded here. I am just asking, how much is different, really?

Probably better discussed in the general Polaris thread, instead of here, which is about the lounge remodels.

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...ounges-86.html

Short answer, there is no difference in the service between Polaris with the updated seats. Just all-access and other seat benefits. If you have flown on any Polaris flight, it will be the same food / bedding / etc.

Could we change the thread title to Polaris Lounge Roadmap 2017-2019? -2020?

About a week ago, I got an email from UA stating:

"Lounge and club updates
Here is what you need to know about the United ClubSM locations at Washington Dulles:
United Club closure. The United Club location near Gate C17 is closed for repairs until November 1. Please visit our location near Gate C7 or D8."

When I first saw it closed, I wondered if it might be to make it Polaris, but with a 11/1 reopen date, that was dispelled. Has anyone been by to see if it has reopened? And I wonder if UA will ever make an announcement about progress on a Polaris lounge at IAD. Maybe they think they could never beat Lufthansa or Turkish, so won't bother trying.

Maybe that's the reason why IAD will be last
