When 15 is being used for arrivals the wide body freighters run reverse thrust what feels like right up to the apron. It's pretty awesome when you're walking out to the EMB-175 there and a loaded UPS 767 freighter comes in.

This is wonderful news! In the early 2000's I used to be based in EUG and flew to BUR via SFO often. Mainline was usually the last flight out in the evening from SFO to BUR. Often I would be booked on a earlier UX flight but almost always missed it due to typical SFO delays coming in from EUG on UX. In those days UA always immediately protected me at check-in on the later mainline flights to BUR. If I recall sometime around 2008/9 they also very briefly reintroduced mainline to EUG? Anybody remember this? It was after I re-located so was never able to fly this service. I would hope the return of BUR might be a sign of good things to come on more regional west coast routes.
Oscar's recent comments about putting more service routes currently on UX back to mainline and Kirby's comments about expanding LAX are both fantastic developments! I was also an old regular on PDF-LAX routes and it would be great to get that back so there is actually a *A option again.

The runway length at BUR is really no trouble for any equipment UA is going to fly there. With just DEN/SFO service presently contemplated, takeoff distance only becomes a factor in the most extreme of circumstances (like full pax load on 739A to DEN on the hottest day of the year ).

Delayed once again. Several weeks in a row. Looking at flights details today. Two flights canceled earlier, andother one delayed.
Hopefully mainline gets priority. Only had one on time flight in recent memory.

ETA: I'm not leaving it to chance and flew into SNA. LA also full. Do me a favor and ask at BUR if real UA employees are coming back.

Are you on the delayed 6:10p? I am trying to get on that flight too (now 7:30p). My original 4pm was canceled...both remaining flights are overbooked.

I'll be back next week (going there UX, back Mainline). I'll ask around!

Joining the party late ...
Another +1. Since I refuse to fly UA's RJs more than ~1 hour, this meant that BUR-SFO was the only option I would ever consider. If they start flying Airbii between BUR and DEN, I'll take a closer look at those flights. I'll also be curious about timeliness in/out of BUR.
Now if UX would only start bringing back some of the intra-California routes that got dropped over the past few years ...

I confirmed this morning that mainline agents are returning tomorrow. Both SkyWest and Mainline agents will be present. Was nice to take a E-175 to SFO today but I can't wait to be back on an A319 or 739!
