Curious about Row 8, is it really set that far back that you'll be "in" the bar/prep area?

Trying to figure row 2 or row 9 are better for long flight with SO. We want to get 2D/2G in the front cabin of this inaugrual flight, but they seem to be design for two strangers. 9D and 9G seem to be too close to the bar/galley, but seats are design for couple and family members traveling togther.

2D/G are angled outwards, and with the side tables in the middle, there will be quite a bit of space between both of you.

9D/G would have bulkheads footrests, which are plenty wide/comfortable for sleeping. I am doing 1 D/G on the SFO-EWR domestic route, so will get a sense of how bothersome galley noise might be. The lavs are what would be more irritating (potentially) for 9 D/G, IMO.

Thanks for sharing. I have been looking at all the photos online and agree the 2D/G seem to be too far apart. Now we are booked in 9 D/G on the inaugural SFO-HKG flight.

I hope 9D/G is nothing like row 8 center aisle seats on the PMUA 2-4-2 layout. Those aisle seats are just too close to the lavatories.

I had my first UA 77W Polaris flight yesterday on SFO-EWR

Definitely stick to my current 9D/G for my partner and I on the inaugural SFO-HKG flight.

We sat in 2D/G yesterday, and I was closer to seat 2A/3A than to my partner.

Looking forward to inaurgral SFO-HKG flight on the 25th.

Has anyone in this forum booked on this historical first international Polaris flight?

Does anyone expect UA to plan something special at SFO to launch this service on March 25?

Any inaugural souvenir expected from United?

For the record, I was just booked onto this flight.

I'm headed out on this flight Apr 9th. I heard 9A is one of the best seats FYI. Really looking forward to the reviews guys! Thanks in advance.

I just realized I'm doing SFO-EWR at 1:30pm on the 25th (also on the 77W). Will definitely swing by the HKG gate early on to check out the festivities, if any!

We are a week away from the "TRUE" Polaris launch (hard plus soft products) after a piece-meal launch since Dec 1st last year.

Hope the reported problems of electronics and seats will be ironed out for next week's SFO- HKG flight.

My SO and I are on the 29 Mar SFO-HKG flight, returning 3 April. Looking forward to reading any reports particularly with respect the seating arrangements and any potential problems

Would go for 9D/G, 1D/G, or any other odd-numbered middle seats.

Covered here:

Everything You Want to Know About Where to Sit on a 777-300ER

The answer is a big NO. Most likely the worst seat on any UA aircraft.
