UAL 89 pushed and taxied out, but stopped on the taxiway again on its way to Runway 22R. Had been there for about 10-15 minutes, about 2,500 short of the runway end, so was looking concerning for a return to gate again.
Alas, problem seemed to be solved, aircraft just took the runway for takeoff, down just shy of 3 hours.

We have been sitting here with engines running for almost 2 hrs. Our flight path is in the way of the storms apparently. Pilot says we need to go back to the gate to refuel. What are the chances the crew won't time out and we take off?
the load is extremely light - hardly 15 people in the entire E+ cabin!! Worried they may cancel the flight.

8/23 UA 159 GUM-HKG 738 delayed 1 hr 52 min due to severe weather (Hato)
8/23 UA 116 HKG-GUM 738 delayed 2 hr 37 min due to late inbound
Overall, not bad, considering the situation. Baggage claim at HKG took about 15-20 mins longer than usual, and getting home was a little weird as the bus I usually take stops running at midnight.
At least I was not on 895A/2724 arriving 00:18 (8/24), about 30 hrs late.

89 just departed EWR, delayed 3 hours. Estimated to arrive around 2 hours late. I assume maintenance was the reason again? Website not currently indicating.

Which indeed was not that bad as I thought, other than having to stay awake for an additional hour when your body-clock screams "It's 4am and you are awake for 24 hours now". Arrival delay was 50 minutes, 10 of them accounting to the gate still being occupied.
That said I just don't get these things get rectified while the plane is idling at ORD. It came in from PEK around 4pm so spend three hours on a remote stand before being towed to our gate at 7pm.

UA 837 26Aug SFO-NRT, 11:45am scheduled departure.
Originally showed Gate 96, but 45 minutes before departure, there was no plane there. All of a sudden, the agents said everyone should go to Gate 95. Crew and pax went up, over, and down.
Then the rolling delays began. There was a 77W there, but it was 2136 vs. 2135 that the app showed as the equipment for the flight. Sure enough, about 20 minutes later, it was announced that the plane at the gate would be towed away, and another come in from the hangar. (2136 came in from NRT a few hours earlier; 2135 had come in from TPE at 6:15am).
When 2135 came over, it had to be cleaned and catered. And a safety check done by the crew. Eventually the plane departed at 1:20pm. And all the while, the gate screen (and app) showed "Delayed due to air traffic." #FakeReason .

Yesterday UA 907 ORD FRA - Left 2:45 late/ arrived 2:15 late. Rolling delays after aircraft arrived a few minutes late. Mechanical according to the pilot.
