I believe low visibility was causing delays at EWR this morning.

I guess I was lucky in my 6-7 TXL-EWR 752s never had a fuel stop.

UA924 IAD-LHR cancelled

Sunday night, UA924 IAD-LHR 787 cancelled for mechanical issues. That's the late flight so everyone went home at midnight.

My understanding is that summer fuel stops are typically due to bad (or predicted bad) weather or thunderstorms at EWR that will likely cause substantial holding time or arrival delays. Better to gas up on a planned basis at BGR than to have to leave the queue over NJ.

Would not be surprised if there are more diversions looking at the current weather radar for the northeast. Doesn't look like it would currently be fun trying to fly in or out of IAD, BWI, PHL, EWR, LGA, or JFK.

I was on UA 78 and we landed in CLE just after UA 804. We had to wait until after they got refueled. Then it was our turn and after two hours we headed off to EWR. I think we got into EWR after 8pm. Unfortunately, my next flight to GRU was delayed and didn't leave until after 2 am

UA851 got way up there before turning back.... wonder what's happening there. UA139.... ???? Severe weather in the route network? Inbound arrived in DEN on time, and there is no weather happening in Denver.
