Meal: Lunch, Pre-arrival

Got into an argument with FA about my meal choice, she insisted that I chose beef and even showed me her notes. But the fact is, she never asked me, she skipped over me. Still got chicken as the flight was fairly empty.

Also pre-arrival, another FA offered chicken, cold plate, or beef stroganoff (leftover snack). I picked the beef as I always find the pre-arrival chicken quite bland.

SFO-AKL

They did have another red and white loaded to do a tasting. The other white was a chard as well.

The mini som tum was good, the salad was nice and came with a straight up olive oil & balsamic dressing...no HFCS.

The vegetables had the most flavor. As I mentioned up thread it looked like the chicken dish actually loaded was the Asian fusion soup.

I skipped everything else because at this time it was about 1:15am SFO and I wanted to get as much sleep as I could.
I had breakfast which was pretty standard.

Thanks for the nice pix. The appetizer with 3 pieces of salmon seems pretty decent. As is a choice of 5 main dishes. ^

I am also a fan of the hot snack beef stew and much prefer it over the pre-arrival chicken service. I hope they keep this on the
menu.

China -US November (photos taken on PEK-SFO Nov 2nd)

My partner and I both ordered the chicken entree, and they came out on different plates (mine is bowl, and hers is plate) and the presentation is different. Also I had a garnish and she did not.

Vkuo - thanks for the photos of the Halloween treats! I have noticed over the last 30 years that Halloween is going global . . .

Photos great, too . . . you and UA Flyer are making this my favorite thread!

Does anyone know if the menu will change again in November or if this might be what is on offer Trans Atlantic in December???

just asking because I'm flying HKG-SFO on the 27th of this month and I was wondering what the menu might look like. Most likely it'll be the same thing as in your flight. Bummer none of the options sound appetizing.

How was your steak?

Main: "Stir-fried beef: black pepper sauce, noodles, bell pepper, bok choy, carrot, mushroom"

Hot snack: FA just said "beef noodles"

Hi: this flight was in mid-October. The other entrees offered were: seared short rib, spicy chicken (Thai-style), and stir-fried shrimp...along with the stir-fried beef. Yeah, pretty standard fare. The steak was good - "well done".

Wine fight. This FA really poured 'em big. The "tasting" lasted the whole meal.

Forgot to take a photo of the app and salad. App was two pieces of sliced tuna with a wasabi mayo type sauce. The salad was the shredded cabbage and lettuce with edamame. Garlic bread was pathetic; tiny patch of cold garlic butter covering about 1/10 of the bread. I will never understand why UA catering can't QC a little consistency on something as simple as garlic bread!

Main was the spicy chicken f/k/a Asian fusion noodle soup. I still like it but it's time to try something else.

Skipped the cheese but took the port. By the time the dessert cart rolled around I still had the "taster" cab (now poured in a regular size glass), the port, a fresh Amaretto, and the still-unfinished Pellegrino.

Slept through breakfast. Good attentive crew.
