Write to CS! You were obviously shortchanged on a promised service item, but not delivered on.

UA61, Oct. 14
EWR-HNL, 2-class B763, 1A
Breakfast

Choices were southwest omelette, berry souffle (partially miscatered with cheese blintzes) or cereal. I went with the blintzes!

Thanks for the feedback & picture, eklapper! That looks pretty decent.

Incidentially, how is p.s. catering these days ? I will be flying it later this month. Did it get affected by the stated downgrades as well?

I've heard that, but I've already done a AA status match and while there were aspects of catering and other areas I liked more than UA, I ended up sticking with UA for other reasons. Flirting with DL, regardless of their possible deficiencies in catering, still deprives UA of some of my business and hopefully impresses upon them a need to do better.

No more hot options on redeyes -- usually a cold salad or sandwich option now.

Wasn't the red eye sandwich heated? Or has that been enhanced, too?

By the end of last month it was enhanced. I had what was described as a "cold chicken sandwich" LAX-EWR -- seemed like a regular thing and not a catering issue.

It must cost an extra cent of jet fuel to run the ovens to heat the sandwiches on redeyes. How cheap can they get?

On LAX-BOS redeye, I had cold options only last month. Last weekend, cheeseburger was an option. ^

Inconsistent, I guess.

Maybe the large number of GS and 1Ks who are on those flights complained and they changed back?

I have no idea. Although a pleasant surprise, wonder if this will continue or was an "one off thing."

But they really need to rethink offering cold only options on p.s. redeye.

I hope this is not true even though I'm so sick of the Beef Provencale, Glass Noodle Salad with Beef, Buffalo Mac & Cheese, etc. I was surprised that dinner from ORD to LGA was a burger (which I actually like).
It’s stories like this that make me pretty comfortable with my decision to switch all of my paid F LGA-ORD travel to DL. When I make the mad dash from work to the airport to get on a 6 PM flight, getting an actual meal is kind of important. So long as UA is going to play games with this, i’m going to steer clear. @:-)
