I have clear pictures of the new BOB on my blog (disclaimer).

On another note, I am very excited to report that both dinner and breakfast ex-TLV (on TLV-SFO a week ago) were tremendous. I'll try to post pictures later, but salmon meatballs for first meal and scrambled eggs for second...

Aren't salmon meatballs an oxymoron?

Perhaps it was salmon gefilte? The TLV flight kitchen does a great job with fish, in my experience.

Is Kosher 'special meal' still the best option when flying long route in Y?

My wife has have upcoming SIN-HKG-SFO roundtrip flight in Y.

I try to avoid UA's onboard meals as much as possible, after the case when I almost broke my tooth on.... rice. No joke, it was photo-documented in this forum. It was three years ago and I have not eaten at UA's flights since that and plan to continue this way.

But this is flight for my wife who has a little bit problem going without food for 14 hours. So, has anything changed in last three years and that hack - order kosher meal is still the best possible quality you can get?

P.S. Those who fly in First/Business/Polaris - please understand that question is about food in Y and what you get on your last flight in not quite relevant. Thank you.

I've always found the best special meal to be the Indian Vegetarian (and I am by no means a vegetarian).

The best option from my own experience is bring my own..On our recent EWR-LAS in F the food was simply inedible and I was glad we brought some crackers and nut bars from home.

Obviously not relevant for the OP. I find the GF meals to be better than the regular ones.

I switched from the kosher meals to the regular ones about a year ago -- I prefer not getting served so early (a super long wait between eating and them dimming the cabin lights) and I honestly just wanted normal meals with chicken.

If you haven't tried a meal in three years, give them another go. They really stepped up catering early in 2016, and the food taste -- if not always presentation -- is far better than it once was. See this blog, which tracks my experience in Y: http://liveandletsfly.boardingarea.c...tlantic-meals/

You might want to find out who caters the KSML ex-SIN and ex-HKG for UA. Some airlines (SQ and BA) use an excellent caterer, and the KSML is really great. Other airlines serve inedible long-shelf frozen nonsense. In such a case, I know religious Jews who, unprepared, decided simply not to eat for 12 hours because it was so gross.

See the thread about KSML in the Religious Travelers forum about it.
