SEA is a line maintenance station for United, so it's possible that work is scheduled during the aircraft's ground time. Besides that, aircraft in all fleets have extended ground sits every day throughout the system, especially at this time of year when demand is generally at its lowest.

In which case, I hope they're changing those tires.

Iím on the afternoon SEA-ORD flight (landed 40 minutes ago, still not yet at gate).

Seemed like there must have been a 1K convention in Seattle this week. I was further down the upgrade list for todayís flight as a Plat than I usually was on a ORD-SFO flight as a Gold last year.

Longest narrowbody group 1 Line Iíve seen since they redid the groups last fall.

It's January - that time of year when there are more elites than any other month (due to people having the higher of their status earned in either 2017 or 2018), plus no shortage of people applying GPUs and RPUs to every flight they can (including lower-status friends/work colleagues/etc) because they expire at the end of the month - all of which would have been ahead of you as well as GS, 1K's and likely some other platinum.

Upgrades generally get much better in February.

I was astonished to find my SEA-ORD red eye completely filled Friday night.

Also amazed and pleased to find the Club open until 12:45, after the last flight departs. I thought I’d find the door locked when I arrived at 10.
