The mattress pad makes the seat so much more comfortable. The PJ's and cooling pillow follow close behind. The FAs make the service but this USA great improvement and much better than AA. May have to ask for a status challenge.

30 champers will do me just fine. Was worrying when GF was serving a vintage that costs sub 20!

It does little good to upgrade the seats and amenities if the FA service doesn't improve. Maybe the attitude is unless they get paid more, they won't provide additional service.

Unfortunately, I don't have a magic wand to change that...

Have the expresso machines returned, at least on PMCO aircraft?...That was a blow when they removed from 767's and 777's.

I doubt they had expresso machines. But espresso? Perhaps! :)

Sad, but true.

anandrag - Thank you for the trip report and photos. FINALLY, after waiting several years, we see a return of a wine list in business class. :)

FA's were just given a 20k raise. They are making 75k now. What more do they feel they should earn?

Question

Do you get to keep the pajamas, or do you have to return them at the end of flight?

Which United Polaris service items and amenities are mine to keep?

When you land at your destination, you are welcome to take your slippers, amenity kit and pajamas (if applicable) with you.

Bears?? I hope they have them when we go to HKG in March.....grandkids will love them.

It all sounds like it is an improvement on the old service and hopefully the bugs will get worked out fairly quickly. Thanks for all of the updates.

My observations from UA974 IAD-GVA right now.

Crew is really enthusiastic about Polaris - they're quite excited to deliver.

Food was excellent compared to J on foreign carriers. Really impressed. Love how the salad and appetizer come together on the same tray.

Lots of bedding - almost too much bedding. But would rather have more to choose from than one skimpy blanket.

Overall, impressed. I imagine it'll all be tied togtether perfectly when the seats come online.
