A few shots of the LAX UC from evening visits over the past two weeks:

At the top of the escalators:

01/10/2023:

no pot stickers, only "egg rolls" (which are terrible):

As I said, I tried and did not like the egg roll:

01/20/2023:

More egg rolls (but didn't try them):

And at the top of the escalators again:

LA is famous for its chowders, if I recall

The LAX UC food spread is pretty impressive, ALMOST as good as the Delta Sky Club.
those chicken pot stickers are tasty.
I may, or may not, have had 10 +!

those soups are amazing, especially the miso broth bar, which is one-of-a-kind to LAX, and really something special. plus, that golden corn chowder is creamy good heartiness!

WRT of LAX UC vs. SkyClub(s) - sorry - UC still doesn't compare.

Here's the UC from yesterday (02/10/23):

Guess I've heard it as "chow-duhs". We're a bit slow.

DL certainly wins on presentation and a broader selection.

Pre-pandemic the LAX UC would have Korean food. Lately, I’ve only visited in the mornings, so I’m not sure if any of it has returned. Seeing the setup they had for Lunar NY, I’m sure it didn’t impress the Koreans that visited.

An interesting comparison, but it is relevant that Amex Plat annual fee is $695 and gets the cardholder SC access when flying DL (provided you're not a DL employee). For $175, you can add three authorized users who also get access. There is no UA equivalent.

The LAX UC really went all in for the Super Bowl yesterday!
Was a fun Super Bowl to watch with these beef hot dogs, all the fixing’s, cold beer and a fun crowd at the bar!

There was a sprinkling of rain this morning in SoCal, so as per California standards was total hysteria & LAX UC outdoor deck was closed at about 6AM due to "flooding". Didn't look like any water really... After about ten minutes they opened the deck...

If I fly into LAX TBIT from Sydney, can I easily access this lounge airside without going through security multiple times?

*A closes their deck at TBIT also if there’s a sprinkle. I think it’s a slipping liability issue they worry about.
