No Wednesday services in November, likely due to low demand going to 6x. No service at all thanksgiving week or xmas-new years.

They must not care about the Berghain/party crowd. Tues is when I would to leave TXL because it meant staying out until 9-11am Monday morning instead of having to catch the flight.

ORD - AMS not daily?
I have noticed on random days that the ORD-AMS (and return) are not operating. Has this always been the case? I would have thought this would be daily year round?

I've noticed the same thing. I was looking at some flights in December and there was no direct return flight. I would suspect it's seasonal, but couldn't find a specific schedule.

Do you have an example? This is usually UA909, which appears to operate daily. Is it possible that you aren't seeing search results (because the flight is full) or something similar? https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL909

Even if a flight is "daily," it may be cancelled during certain extremely low travel days around the holidays.
US Thanksgiving and the period around Christmas are probably very low travel days for long haul international, and it gives UA the opportunity to beef up capacity on busy domestic routes.

I believe around the holidays (DEC-JAN) UA usually pulls in some of their international/widebody fleet to use for the uptick in domestic pax. Last year I saw the same thing, where normally daily flights to Europe and Asia were reduced to 3-5 times a week during holiday season. Daily flights resumed shortly after Christmas.

United runs thinned schedules during the holidays and slow winter times on ORD-AMS, BRU, and CDG, realizing that they will still capture much of what traffic remains over IAD and EWR (which in turn helps keep the 777 to IAD and EWR feasible on some of those routes, so that those rotations don't have to flip back and forth between 777 and 763/4).
