This is now getting too OT but my ORD-MUC was switched back to the normal 2-4-2 772. They gave me a window seat and I hate window seats that are not also aisle. Map is full so no changing. I guess I should not complain (too much) as my wife now has no seat.
That could end ugly for your wife as there are 48 total J/F on the 2-4-2 config, while 50 on the Polaris config. Hopefully they will upgrade some pax from J to F and your wife will at least get a seat vs. a downgrade to Y (or even worse if Y is full an IDB, though I don't think that will happen). I hate when they play this AC configuration game over and over in the days leading up to departure.. I have been separated from my wife as well when they were playing the 767-300 swapping game a couple years back. Hopefully the retrofits happen quickly and logistics minimizes these config switches.

it's a reconfigured 3-cabin 772 doing EWR-ORD-FRA-ORD-PVG.

ORD-FRA-ORD-PVG

The 772 on EWR-ORD is a shuttle for EWR long-hauls repositioning to ORD.

As new aircraft are brought into service, they are frequently used on the transcon routes. But eventually they move to the long-haul routes, There have not been any recent additions of 77W (but more are planned), so they have dropped out of the transcon routes for the most part.

777-300ER is doing a SFO-BOS return today. Im scheduled on it but probably have to change. If I dont, is $429 upg to Polaris worth it?

I think the last time I bought an u/g on that route it was $299, so to me it's a $130 premium for the PL seat. Only you can decide if that's worth it to you, but I'd probably do it, just for the novelty of it.

and drewguy: no CPUs on this route any longer, it's now PS.

For the eastbound flight, I wouldnt. Westbound, probably. If you arent going to be flying any international flights out of SFO and really want the novelty, go ahead.

At the end of the day, your money is worth what it means to you

No RPUs available? When they swap in the 773 the upgrade tends to be easy.

edit: well it's full now!

It would have been the Polaris seat with normal p.s. service. Which admittedly is not that different from Polaris service any longer. All of which is to say, maybe not missing much?

Oops, I thought today was the 24th and was surprised it had filled up so 'early'. (Those missing three stayed missing; empty seats en route.)

Yeah, flight is half way across the country, and showing the 3 empty seats up front.

Wonder where it's off to next, is there any way to tell?
