No, currently it's on 764 until 21MAY19 and then it's 772 between 22MAY19 to 4OCT19, then 763 5OCT19 through 11FEB20, and then 764 to EOS.

I suppose I didn't phrase my question well...I meant in the context of the 772, if it's with or without the new Polaris config.

For the routes where UA has not yet dedicated a 772 with Polaris/Premium Plus, what happens on seat assignments if there's a swap? Are PPlus seats "free" - i.e., no extra charge, although perhaps reserved for GS/1K? Or does it convert at T-72 and bounce folks?

I'm on an IAD-NRT flight with 772 service, but seat map is showing older configuration (blocking one of the 4 middle seats), so trying to figure out what to expect if a swap occurs.

Seat assignments can be random so watch them like a hawk, PP is "free" if that happens, and what has happened to me as a 1K is that I get some seat assigned in E+ which I am then able to change to PP for no charge, In that T-72 window I watch it at least every hour.

Flying PEK-EWR in a couple days...does anyone know if a retrofitted 772 has been subbed in on this route from time to time? Not that fussed about being in a pmCO 772 but just curious.

How late would they do an equipment change?

I'm 5 days out and I'm assuming I'm stuck with a 2-4-2 on SFO-LHR.

About 3 days before the flight, United tries to give you what they think is going to be the configuration for your flight. But I had changes happening in the morning of my international long haul flights and then another swap a few hours later. So, anything can still happen to your flight. You just need to keep monitoring it.

If they do an equipment change on day of flight, it's usually bad news, delayed flight, etc.

Not necessarily for your flight. My ORD-MUC where it was swapped back a few hours before the flight departed on time. But the original plane was supposed to arrive from PVG but was subbed by a plane arriving from another airport.

The Wiki lists 772 retrofitted routes. Are those routes where UA has formally announced that they will get dedicated retrofitted aircraft whenever possible?

More that UA has announced they are selling premium economy, which inherently means the utilized aircraft has to have the new seats on them.

I'm out on this route in 4 days (same flight you're on?). Pattern on this route this past week (only one flight East N/S) seems to be that UA changes to a 77W map [or Polaris retrofitted 772 map] about 2 days in advance; and it seems to stay that way through departure.
On the return, near the end of month (2 N/S flights/day), when I booked 6 months ago, it was a 77W and, so far (fingers crossed) has stayed that way.

Dang, they did change it and I didn't check until this afternoon. Only 4 other seats left and they gave me 10A, which is angled. Only other windows are in row 15, the last row of the 772 Polaris cabin and presumably over the engines, so possible noise.

But definitely preferable to sitting in the outer left seat in the 2-4-2.
