Glad I was able to catch the earlier flight home from SYR to ORD today. Weather wasn't looking too bad but in the last 1 1/2 hours its not looking to good out there.

Rain has stopped. The sky overhead is clear...Flights seem to be boarding again. Now just thinking about the 40-50 planes ahead of mine already on the tarmac.

Ah, great. Just lost CMH-ORD-PDX with an upgrade on ORD-PDX. Now visiting most of the country on CMH-IAH-DEN-PDX with 2/3 legs in a middle coach seat. Joy and happiness (not).

Yep.... I am stranded in ROC.

Captain on the cancelled flight was great. He kept us updated the whole time and encouraged visits up to the flight deck. He was working dispatch and FAA hard but could not get us a slot.

Sorta frustrating because we had a clear path from the east, since the storm was moving west-east. I think all the other traffic in the area doomed the flight.

Rochester ground crew did the best they could with rebooking.

I was on the phone with united desk (whatever one silver gets) and she was willing to rebook me on the first delta flight of the day, (getting me home at 11am) since UA was full until 3pm. And then the line dropped.

With the forecast of thunderstorms in rochester tomorrow afternoon, i got back on hold for and got an earlier but longer connection on delta getting me to PDX at 1pm.

My luck of no cancelations at ORD finally ran out.

So since I rebooked on delta, though United, I imagine I lose the pqd spend?

Any options?

Also ended up buying delta comfort plus because I didn't have an assigned seat and didn't want a middle seat at 5:45am.

If United booked you on Delta then you can contact the MilagePlus Service Center and request original routing credit. Check out this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...ng-merged.html. According to the wiki in that thread you should be able to ask for PDQ.
