UAL 223 [SFO - DEN] emergency landing at SLC [July 9, 2016]
Friend on UA 223 texted. Hard, fast emergency landing. Brakes blazed up a little so they are sitting. Fire crews surrounding plane. Apparently an engine overheated in flight and caught a little fire. Now rescheduled to continue to DEN.

Just landed in SLC on delta 190 from Denver and saw the 753 tailed by fire trucks. Unusual site in SLC for sure. First thought was it was a diversion since no 757s on UA fly to SLC
Also worth noting that it was a very bumpy descent and hard, hard landing on a newly configured 319
