United Flight Attendants have a JBCA... Finally!

http://unitedafa.org/news/details.aspx?id=17016

A few moments ago, our Joint Negotiating Committee (JNC) and the company came to an agreement on the terms of a joint collective bargaining agreement. The parties will work to finalize the language this weekend for review by the Joint Master Executive Council (MEC), including all (CAL, CMI, UAL) Local Presidents. These directly elected leaders of all 25,000 Flight Attendants, will meet in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday, June 27 & 28.

Step 1-committee-done
Step 2-union leadership-next up
Step 3-membership vote

Steps 1 and 3 are the difficult parts, at least 1 of them has been accomplished

Does anyone know a timetable for when this will all be completed?

Several weeks to months for the vote to happen. Implementation/integration after that per the terms which are not yet public, assuming the vote passes. And that's not a guarantee.

The greatest challenge has been the F/As haven't been able to collectively decide what they want. The two CBAs going in are night and day apart-sCO has many high time fliers who want high base rates, yet sUA has many who like riding on work rules and silly things like crew meals that impose a cost. Will be interesting to see when it gets put out for ratification, this may trigger an increase for AA/APFA and surely DL will evaluate it closely although the IAM drive seems to be at bay for the time being.

that's great news for everyone!

Thank goodness, hope it gets completed!

It will be interesting to see the details-the desires and demands of the two pre merger groups are a gulf apart.

Rumors as to terms have to be swirling. I am anxious for one of our resident F/As to share some of the scuttlebutt.

Forget Polaris.... this right here could be the single most flyer-friendly thing Oscar can accomplish in his term.

I'm not 100% sure it wouldn't have happened eventually with Smisek still at the helm, but this is a great way to bury the past and move on.

New leadership, single UNITED team, profitable airline, new planes and new cabins on the way -- all the potential for a great, great comeback story are here.

You heard it here first... Oscar's memoir: "From Worst to First (Again)"

So this will be the end of sUA and sCO crews, or would the crews still be pretty much segregated due to the differences in aircraft types between PMUA and PMCO?

There's a lot of integration work to be done, such as combining seniority lists, bases, eliminating redundancies, etc. (all this assuming the TA passes). Complete integration could be a year from now, but once complete, there will be no distinction between sCO and sUA crews... you'll just have to ask!

I will happily celebrate the day this happens!

Has anyone ever seen, or can share example details of what goes into a typical union contract?
