Update -- all is well, after a couple hours of flaky internet, things seem to be working again
Comcast's internet service was out across the U.S. on Monday for several hours

Not sure what I'm missing ...
Using this tool to look up a flight on Saturday.
It shows: United PolarisSM business: 60 | Booked: 53 | Checked In: 0
But when I try to buy a business class ticket, I see there are 12 seats available.
Edit: To answer my own question, looks like there are only 7 seats available Available fare classes:J7 JN7 C7 D7 Z7
Using this tool to look up a flight on Saturday.

To use that, check for your flight, on any date, and tehn manually change the date in the URL

the website says it is an invalid date. When I go earlier in time, say Dec 1:

it also says that it is an invalid date.

FSO = origin; FSD = destination; FLN = flight number; FLD = flight date. Origin and destination must be uppercase.
You may need to reload the link a few times before it will work, but it does.
Historical data ages off of the website quickly.

You can also do this with the mobile app.
Just go to settings and manually set your date to the date of the flight, and then go into the app and search the flight status. Once you find it, then save it to your "home screen" in the app.
**NOTE: If you have any reservations saved in your mobile app that are not yours (family, friends etc), OR are not tied to your MP account, they will disappear if they occur before the date that you are setting your phone to (as the app sees them as being in the past, already flown)**

Yeah I'm not 100% what's going on. I have no issues expect on one of my two iphones. I think there is an issue with the anycast routing that drives the main name and I will have to work that out with my provider.
Here are direct links to the servers behind the main site. I haven't had any issues with these loading. If you use one of these i would just pick one. The cookies that track your history won't work across different sever addresses.
