Consolidated 2016 Holiday flight schedule changes

Guess it is time to start the 2016 version.

Just had an existing itinerary hosed for travel on Thanksgiving Day as United has just chopped ORD->NRT off the schedule.

From a quick look, seems NRT from IAD, EWR, and DEN all are still on the schedule...at least for now.

If you have any travel booked on holidays, you might want to check on the status of your itins.

Thanksgiving? I haven't planned beyond Memorial day!

LOL

There are a couple of trips I take consistently every year, including one which departs on Thanksgiving Day. Works out well as I can snag R space early and ensure GPUs clear upon booking.

There are typically a couple round of schedule changes, but I have always been able to preserve the upgrade space, including this time. (Sometimes takes a HUCA).

Very happy with the outcome this time. ^

Some destinations will likely see expanded service over the 2016 holidays - e.g., HNL. I'm still hoping for a last UA 747 ride from there to SFO around Christmas time.

Why no UA933 (FRA - IAD) on Tuesday?

Hello,

Does someone know why there is no UA933 (FRA-IAD) on Tuesday (and also no 932 on Monday IAD-FRA)?

Just rearranged my meetings and tried to switch to that flight noticing it's not offered on that day.

Thank you

Just the usual holiday slowdowns.

As above.
The LHR-LAX direct is cancelled this week, so I'm having to take a flight via ZRH.

The up-side is I have a throne seat on LX :)

This. Happens every year, and in some cases it looks like UA and LH are coordinating so that they don't both cancel the same runs on the same days.

They need widebody capacity for domestic holiday travel?

In some cases, but the real reason is low demand. Most TATL traffic this week is leisure-oriented and loads traditionally are pretty light anyway.

I didn't realize they coordinated on that.

I do know LH does it's own but of adjustments around Christmas/New Years (for example, FRA-BLR/MAA don't go daily around that time), but didn't realize UA coordinated on them with others. That makes sense and a good use of the JV.

Was wondering about this city pair (LHR-LAX) the week between Christmas & New Years. So far, it still shows flights operating. Is that going to hold?

Any adjustments made due to holiday schedule would most likely already been made. If it is still on the books, I doubt it will be cancelled due to schedule changes.

Irrops/MX is another matter. :D

Still no 747s to HNL this Christmas season. I guess that's now part of UA's past history.:(
