I thought that was already the consensus.

Or was that just in Fleet Update thread?

Already have two trips to Asia booked this year, so probably no way to squeeze in one last 747 flight @:-) Even though getting to SFO is actually pretty easy for me ...

I got in on the thread late, so sorry if I repeated already known info.

For anyone looking for a farewell trip, multiple dates each direction in the first week of September SFO/ICN are wide open in both premium cabins (or at least have decent O/R/I space), with upper deck space and 1 A/K empty.

I see plenty of R space when searching SFO-ICN, but if I try to start in DEN then it shows R0 for the SFO-ICN segment. Is this a situation where you need to call after booking to confirm the upgrade?

Seeing a LOT of Asiana on nonstop and not that many on UA at the low rate.

No, it means there is no R on DEN flight. If you book and apply GPU, the ICN flight will clear immediatelly and DEN segment will waitlist.

So what you're saying is they might end the route earlier than Oct 29? "Until October" leads me to believe that it's through September and ends beginning of October.

I think anything is possible, honestly. My source only agreed with my statement that ICN-SFO is the final route and it continue through October.

One caveat: I've learned that unless you're in the department in UA that decides equipment/routes/ac management you're in the dark about as much as the pubic is.

I'll follow up with the Source and see if I can get a more definitive answer.

While you're at it, would you mind checking SFO-PVG please?

Booked a one way award flight at the end of Sep, and a separate award flight on One World alliance back... so it would really suck if anything should change because there'll be change fees plus lack of award inventory for any other flight. Not to mention all my best laid plans (and time invested) for a 24 hour layover in PVG and 24 hour in NRT will be for naught.

I just did a check of SFO-PVG and I found that UA is flying the 747 until 10/4, as of today. I know dates can change quickly as we've seen with other routes.

I have to be respectful of my contact and not bug them with too many questions. If you're already booked and an AC swap is done they should at least email you. I'd then beg your OW carrier for mercy.

I've been relying on a RSS feed from www.routesonline.com to see if anything changes. That's how I spotted a couple of the past updates recently.

They've been pretty good at posting any new developments.

ICN - how insulting a goodbye - they said it would be memorable not a whimper.

That's the last official route but there will be a domestic goodbye ceremony in addition is my impression.

I've been updating the Wiki at the top (last edit was me).

There are other threads, but since this thread is specifically "Present 747 Routes" I figure it is most relevant and no need to cross post.

Last UAL 747-400

As of tonight July 26, 2017:

Sunday October 29 ICN-SFO is the last scheduled revenue flight showing in reservations. This does not include any "special" farewell routes UA might schedule.
I have my Business class ticket and that cabin is filling up(ZERO of 52 seats shown on UAL website, but still shows available Biusiness price $5,224, considerably more than I paid!). First class shows fully booked.

I have searched all known scheduled UA 747 destinations out of SFO. These are the last returns to SFO as of now.
(the Beijing date changed from Oct 28 to Sept 7 since I checked mid-June, the others are unchanged)

FRA: Sat, Oct 28 5:25 PM – 7:45 PM
Frankfurt (FRA) – San Francisco (SFO) United 927 Boeing 747

LHR: Sat, Oct 28 10:25 AM – 1:30 PM
London (LHR) – San Francisco (SFO) United 900 Boeing 747

PVG: Fri, Oct 6 12:10 PM – 8:30 AM
Shanghai (PVG) – San Francisco (SFO) United 858 Boeing 747

PEK: Thu, Sep 7 12:00 PM – 8:45 AM
Beijing (PEK) – San Francisco (SFO) United 889 Boeing 747

TPE: Wed, Aug 2 9:50 AM – 6:35 AM
Taipei (TPE) – San Francisco (SFO) United 872 Boeing 747
