I am flying American CRJ-900 to CLT and a 737 to EWR
Interesting comments on this routing above.... I now proactively book AA through CLT on CHS-EWR or EWR-CHS when my option is Commutair. F on AA is literally the SAME price as Y on UA, and I know I'm getting to my destination. If I'm delayed anywhere, there are multiple flights almost on the hour.

When dealing with Commutair, I know I'm getting a delay over 50% of the time. Plus, on the way back to EWR, add 15-20 minutes for gate check bags on the 145 once you arrive on UA. Can walk them off on AA.

Well, well, well, the commute air bug is giving us a good deal

Went thru this morning - 737 w/direct TV to EWR at 6am - flight was full EXCEPT one FC seat (all silvers were upgraded) and 2 economy seats
Increasing flights to 18 a day starting June 9
Increasing MAINLINE flights due to commute air not being able to deliver on their contract. She said she doesn't know exactly because it changes but expect 2-3 mainline flights a day to EWR and ORD. Not sure how long it will last.

I've been happy with EWR service so far this summer. Hopeful it extends into the fall, but not that confident.... There's a noon mainline from EWR just about every day, with the return from CHS mid-aft. There's also a Republic E170/5 most days as well. I am perfectly good with those options. I do wish the last flight out would go Republic, but for now beggars can't be choosers.

OK, reviving this old crusty thread

So far - 5 flights in or out of CHS this week. ALL on mainline A319/320 or 737-900. I have been on CHS-IAH and CHS-EWR, but I know CHS-ORD has been mainline as well

I am not sure if someone screwed up the schedule or what, but please don't stop. We had HOT food for dinner IAH-CHS

Can one of you with schedule access possibly look up and see if my dreams will continue to come true or is this some sort of sick joke UA is playing on me?

It varies. You're looking good through the end of the month (although there's still one CHS-EWR daily flight on Express), and then Express service starts to creep back in, depending upon the route. ORD seems to have the most consistent mainline service.

Express is creeping back in based on where you look on the schedule. Flew IAH-CHS last night and was surprised to see the 739. It went out with a half dozen F seats open and a lightly loaded Y cabin. Was interesting to get “dinner” (I had nuts, a cheese and crackers snack from Y, and a drink before I fell asleep for the rest).

That is the way it has been for the past year from ORD - typically they shortcycle the crew and they fly last flight of the day from ORD, go to hotel and same crew flies the 6am flight - flight and layover is short enough they don't time out. I asked and they way they are doing it now is the crew gets a 30off in CHS and takes the morning flight the next day, which I am sure is OK as long as they continue the daily service.

I knew there was one or 2 mid day flights on express and I think one was a erj145 to EWR, but the rest are all E175 or CRJ-700, which are fine by me.

Yeah, my 739 flights had empty F seats but the econ was 90% full, the 319/320 flights I was on had no F seats empty, plenty on upgrade list and only 1-2 upgrades, so that is encouraging, although I don't remember timing, weekends etc. I can't imagine us supporting a 739 full time, maybe a 737 or 319/320.

To all, no I hadn't had a chance to look farther out in the schedule, I was just hoping they would stay

EWR is a mixed bag through end of schedule:

Code:
   month | origin | destination | mainline | express
------------+--------+-------------+----------+---------
 2018-05-01 | EWR | CHS | 67 | 57
 2018-06-01 | EWR | CHS | 61 | 63
 2018-07-01 | EWR | CHS | 62 | 64
 2018-08-01 | EWR | CHS | 50 | 77
 2018-09-01 | EWR | CHS | 46 | 69
 2018-10-01 | EWR | CHS | 62 | 86
 2018-11-01 | EWR | CHS | 60 | 60
 2018-12-01 | EWR | CHS | 62 | 62
 2019-01-01 | EWR | CHS | 62 | 62
 2019-02-01 | EWR | CHS | 56 | 56
 2019-03-01 | EWR | CHS | 62 | 62
 2019-04-01 | EWR | CHS | 60 | 60
IAH goes express after summer, but as always the schedules >3 mo out are questionable:

Code:
   month | origin | destination | mainline | express
------------+--------+-------------+----------+---------
 2018-05-01 | IAH | CHS | 50 | 12
 2018-06-01 | IAH | CHS | 28 | 56
 2018-07-01 | IAH | CHS | 18 | 47
 2018-08-01 | IAH | CHS | 13 | 62
 2018-09-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 85
 2018-10-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 93
 2018-11-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 90
 2018-12-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 93
 2019-01-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 93
 2019-02-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 84
 2019-03-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 93
 2019-04-01 | IAH | CHS | 0 | 90

@mduell as always thanks for your knowledge

I’ll happily take what you posted, much better than before. Hopefully we will fill up these planes enough to warerant continued mainline service.
