I had about a 60% CPU success rate last year as a Plat. There are 1K's that have a CPU rate under 10%.

Both are anecdotal evidence, but to be presented to another pax as "fact" and "this is how your experience will be" is misleading. There are a multitude of variables that impact a flyer's experience with any airline.

As I said, if the OP's anecdotal evidence has been good enough for him/her to continue to shift more business to UA, your anecdotal evidence (and mine as well) is irrelevant.

Totally agree. I fly out of EWR and have been flying CO/UA for 20 yrs now - have had significantly delayed bags twice (once on CO and once on UA) coming back from ski trips in Colorado. That's it. Twice in 20 years. Both times, the bags were delivered to our home within 24 hrs.

And delays in and out of EWR? Sure, there were some but nothing that would make me throw my arms up in the air and say UA sucks. Most of these have been consistent (in terms of with CO and UA).

OP, your experience may be different but I for one find that UA fits my needs the best of all options available to me.

I have about three years of experience, and approximately 300 segments on UA to base my opinions on. I fly mainly domestic. I also have been flying routinely for business over 20 years. I was never loyal to a single airline, always shopping fares and times, so I also have many data points for many other airlines.

I also fly back and forth to my destination in a single day on many of my trips, so delays are a bad thing for me. I have not regretted my decision to use UA on the majority of my trips. Everyone has different experiences, but I do not hesitate to recommend UA to friends and family.

I would though. CO and UA have horrible customer service and delays out of EWR. Just a miserable experience overall.

Since you added data later: It's November 2015 not 2014. And it's ONE month. Why criticize me for anecdotal data, and then provide a snap-shot of one month's performance to make your argument. "Clearly outperforming" AA, um "clearly" would be greater that 0.2 points. Where exactly was UA at this time in their merger process?

Thank you for pointing out my typo (2015 vs. 2014.)

And if you read past the first page of the report, UA outperformed AA for on-time % in September, October, and November. That is what's called a "trend."

AA is in the middle of a merger, and at sAA a major refleeting. Both result in decreased reliability. Happened with US+HP, with DL+NW, and with UA+CO.

Nov 2015 AA was OT 83.7% of the time, UA was 83.9% OT. Delta was 89.5% OT.

Oct 2015 AA was 85.7% OT, UA was 87.9% OT, Delta was 92.1% OT

Sep 2015 A was 85.6% OT, UA was 86.2% OT, Delta was 90.5% OT.

For the last DOT period 11/14-11/15 AA was 79,9% OT, UA was 77.7% OT, Delta was 86.3% OT.

Notably, AA did its reservation system change over in October 2015 (a process started in July 2015) which will cause a few hic-ups. I don't think I see a "trend" of any magnitude. The "trend" is that UA used to be at the very bottom in OT, now it has risen to AA's not so hot level... :D

As has been noted Repeatedly on this board, neither AA nor UA has been very good in the OT department compared to Delta. The big difference in AA vs. UA has been that AA is according to most people much better in IRROPS. YMMV
