100+ on IAH-SFO in early Dec. Equipment was swapped from a 757 to a Polaris 777. Must had a lot of people SDC to it. Group 1 line was LONG.

Last Wednesday the 10.30 p.m. SFO-EWR red-eye had a 75-deep upgrade list. Longest I have seen in a while on a p.s. route without complimentary UGs.

Hardly compares to some of the other lists, but kind of comical anyway.
IAD-RDU a few days ago on a CR7 (6 seat F cabin, 4 booked, 2 avail). I was 16/29. 29 waiting to upgrade on a 50 seat RJ. |
37 on list is impressive
Most flights are pretty empty nowadays. But 37 on upgrade standby list on a short hub-to-hub flight is very impressive.

That's oddly comforting :)
I've been disappointed to see United still being very stingy with transcon plus point upgrade availability. But if there are still elites out chasing those seats, I'll try to be less cynical.

Tomorrow there are only 2 ORD-IAD flights, with this being the first. I would be interested to see how many of these are non-revs deadheading (I would put good money on it that it is a non-zero number), with the limited schedule UA has been deadheading tons of crews. I have read reports that on a flight with 40 people booked more than 50% are deadheads.

This list will appear a bit long for now as UA is holding off CPU until the gate
Processing Complimentary Premier Upgrades in priority order at the gate before departure. |
Lengthy upgrade lists have returned.
UA 305 ORD-SFO on a Max 9 today the list was 62. Booked full, zero cleared. Flight was originally scheduled for a 772. Very harsh reentry to domestic UA travel after flying inbound from VIE on OS. "Hey, where's the bread basket and eiskaffee?" |
My BDL - DEN flight this morning was fully booked and they were asking for volunteers to take alternative flights. I checked and came across this ORD-DEN flight this morning with 50 seats up front, all booked, and an additional 74 people on the waitlist! On a Tuesday :(

wow that's fully 30% of the plane that's "elite." pretty similar ratio on the hub to hubs I have flown on this year, where there will be 30-40 elites on a 737 standing by for an upgrade
|
SFO-LAX: 48
SFO-LAS: 45 David |
Data point only
UA 636 EWR>CLE has a total of 28 on upgrade list. Just a small note: nearly 17% of potential passengers (based on seating capacity of 166) on this B738 are elite and eligible for upgrade. I presume one on the upgrade list is a UA employee since also on standby list. Not a full flight either.
