That may be the record. Aircraft seats 336 in Y, so that's 43% of the Y cabin.

Just curious - was UA "the official" airline of the CES or something like that? Or did they just add capacity on their own, recognizing the demand? The LAS UC must have been pretty darn crowded, if not at capacity.,,

Don't know about "official," but everyone adds capacity during CES. DL adds a ton of nonstops to LAS, including international flights (e.g., ICN-LAS).

96 today at SFO for UA291 to IAD

Even worse, a plane substitution changed 48 First class seats on a 2-class 777-200A to one that only had 28 seats.

Fortunately, we already had confirmed seats, and got notice automatically with new seat assignments. Was a paid, but Z fare ticket.

Also got an email from UA, asking to call if my travel plans were flexible. Didn't call to see what the offer was.

No chaos at the gate. Not too many GS or 1Ks, and Group 1 wasn't very big, either.

Wife and I are Platinums.

I was amusing myself watching this, and boarding closed with, I think, 155 (excepting one probable non-rev). I believe a 739 has been reported with over 50% once, but I'm not sure about that.

As #155 , it would be fun to go up to the GA and say, "hey, do I have a shot at the upgrade?"

What’s worse is being #1 on a list of three and no one clearing. Had that happen on my way to ORD recently

I am always amazed when I have a W or better fare with an instrument in play and I am still no better than15th on list. Happens at SFO all the time where GS rules.

When it's like that there are passengers who would have qualified to sit in E+ that are stuck in E. Has not happened to me yet.

I reported an ORD-DFW A-320 back in June of 2018 that had 90 people on the upgrade list which is 65% of the plane.

My 739 flight IAD-DEN today (at T-3.5) has 60 on the list out of 159 seats (+1 non-rev).

101 on my PHL-ORD UA563 today, which runs about average for that flight on Thursdays, also a 739.

You know you're screwed when a line forms when they call GS passengers to pre-board
