In The Hunger Games there was a winner. In EWR there are no winners.

Adults solve these problems without needing a rule book or a forum discussion.

A yellow-scarf lounge attendant did come over pretty quickly to tell the dude to get his feet off the furniture.

Excellent wording, hopefully the intention, deserving of a LIAR Award (circa 1987).

“They” being feet or furniture ? “Removed” from the furniture or from one’s body ?

I own this book, "The Lexicon of Intentionally Ambiguous Recommendations" (the article has the title wrong). It was given to me 30 years ago by a staff member, who probably had my future recommendations of him in mind. It's delightful...and still available on Amazon.

In today’s self-centered and selfish society, asking or reminding people, particularly among a population which undoubtedly has many overt and many unapparent DYKWIA, to do anything as a “courtesy” is like hitting your head against a wall .

If enforceable, “If you put your feet on the furniture your feet will be removed (from your body)” would make much more sense .
