Fare Class P Available but not...
 

I want to take advantage of a P class business fare that UA has from DUB to TPA. The DUB-EWR books fine into P, but will only allow me P Class on the special fare later in the day from EWR to TPA. It is forcing me to Z Class for both flights to get on the earlier flight despite P class being available if I look to book EWR to TPA on the earlier flight I want. Any thoughts on how this can be sorted? Is it a UA glitch?

Dates and flights? I can book DUB-EWR-TPA on UA22 ex-DUB and connect to any EWR-TPA flight with a through fare in P: 1,875 EUR or 2,046 USD r/t.

I get P9 when I search that routing as part of a RT. Are you trying to search that as a one-way? The P is not available as a one-way fare.

No am booking a return six days later after Sat night, thanks and as above shows 2 seats on April 6 is that what you checked?

I get P9 on both segments if I search an April 6 departure as part of a RT itinerary. $537 for the full routing DUB-EWR-TPA (which seems unbelievably cheap btw).

Poked my head in the MR forum and looks like J travel ex-DUB is stupidly cheap right now - sub 6 cpm runs in J, wow.

I can also book this easily, but I note that I cannot price it on ITA with either DUB or LON as the sale city. Overriding it to any US city works, so I wonder if there is a weird point of sale issue. Also TPA-DUB-TPA is a no-go as far as I can tell.

Yes it is exactly the flights you referenced.

Must be a point of sale issue. Why not just book the longer connection? 60 mins at EWR is very dicey anyway.

I wish they would do TPA-DUB-TPA, but these fares tend to be the result of a strong US dollar that is a disincentive for visitors to come to the US.

With Preclearance in DUB believe an hour should be fine especially as have hand luggage only? Have now got it to price on USA site so shall book thru that, thanks to all

You're assuming the inbound will be on time. That is always a risky assumption with UA.

Wait... is point-of-sale based inventory supposed to exist? I realize the difference is that I can price it on ITA for a US sale city, or with DUB point of sale only if I un-check the box which requires inventory to be present.
