Diverted flight from Frankfurt?
So what the story behind the flight from Frankfurt that is apparently diverting to Boston?
I'm on the last flight out of Newark to boston, and after delaying 30min for connecting pax, (a-OK, I want them to do it for me,) but due to a last minute issue with that Frankfurt flight, am now waiting on parts and mechanics to board and load, with an estimated departure of 11p.
Boston based/home crew not happy.

It may be easier to de-plane everyone in the States vs. Canada after the imminent cancellation of the makeup segment.... of course, the situation appears to not be an emergency, or they would land at the nearest airfield - they probably are averting some sort of risk by electing to not do the crossing until the issue is resolved .... Those with visa issues would be in a debacle in Canada vs. the country of origin. This is only my guess, of course.

I think this is the flight from EWR To FRA, unless there is another flight from FRA diverting to BOS as well.

the EWR - FRA flight, 960, will be landing about 5 1/2 hours late, say around 2:30 PM but the return, 961, won't be leaving for EWR until 6:30. I wonder why the 4 hour gap? That will make 961 about 6 hours delayed.

I'm getting 895'd on Jan 25, and have been watching the bad news for the last few days. The one from yesterday will get in at midnight. The airport express stops running at 00:48, so it'll be a very tight connection to the last train.
