I've said it before and I will say it again...I *HATE* the 787. It is a piece of crap airplane that breaks down constantly. I try to avoid these planes at all costs but my company put me on the non-stop and I was happy to try it.

I'm glad I'm moving to SIN. I will never fly this flight again.

And on top of it, SFO-PVG cancelled earlier today. I was told that for that flight they only had 30 hotel rooms to give out to an entire 747. Guess how many were available for SFO-SIN pax? ZERO. We all got a form telling us we can get $200 refund if we mail in our receipts.

It's 145am in SFO and I have no hotel room as you can't book a hotel room for "last night" on any website and the Marriott Plat line is still not answering after 20 minutes on hold.

Sorry man - try calling the Marriott airport directly - 650 692-9100

I was on the inbound frame for this flight UA 59 FRA-SFO on 7/19 (N177UA) and there was an issue with the plane in FRA as it was roasting due to one of the air conditioning units being down, which I believe is tied to the APU. Temps were in the 90's in FRA on 7/19 so you can imagine how hot it was in the upper deck as we sat at the gate.

On an additional note for yesterday's tally.

7/20 UA 893 SFO-ICN cancelled due to aircraft maintenance.
7/21 UA 892 ICN-SFO cancelled due to aircraft maintenance.

7/20 UA 949 LHR-SFO (N227UA) diverted to MSP for aircraft maintenance. Finally arrived at 0127, 8 hours 22 minutes late.

7/20 UA 895 ORD-HKG (N224UA) returned to gate. Departed at 1522, 2 hours 2 minutes late and arrived at 2000, 1 hour 50 minutes late due to aircraft maintenance.

7/20 UA 869 SFO-HKG (N122UA) departed at 1526, 1 hour 36 minutes late and arrived at 1940, 1 hour late due to aircraft maintenance.

Sorry to hear about all this. I would have searched for a hotel on my phone and called it direct once couldn't get through to the central line.

Strange--I've got three relatives on that (SFO-PVG) bird and her sister says they got put up in the Hilton, $400/night. These are not seasoned travelers and have no meaningful ability to communicate in English.

This plane already had a mechanical delay going out on 7/20. Looks like it is broken again.

7/22 UA 862 HKG-SFO (N122UA) cancelled due to aircraft maintenance.

UA 881 ORD->NRT delayed 3 hours so far.

this flight is a 789 as is the now cancelled UA 2 SIN - SFO. reliability of the 789 fleet seems to be pretty shi**y.

Also cancelled today 7/21:

UA16 B764 EWR - LHR

UA862 B744 HKG - SFO

UA 892 B744 ICN - SFO

tomorrow:

UA921 B763 LHR-EWR

The problem is when the plane cancels on the morning of 7/21 (12:30am), you can't search for a hotel room on 7/20. The only option is to call each and every hotel near the airport (which I tried) or the Marriott/SPG/Hilton, etc. main lines. I ultimately got lucky calling the SPG main line as the Marriott Plat line was 20 minutes on hold and still no answer. Ridiculous.

EDIT: UA2 (SIN-SFO) on 22July is cancelled due to no aircraft being available (my UA1 cancellation on 20July).

What's interesting is I can't find an extra segment from SIN-SFO. So where is this 789 going after the extra segment gets to SIN?

Didn't United just receive this 789 aircraft (#3967) like last month? It went MX this fast?

On my last 2 ORD-FRA flights we experienced an issue where the AC started to blow out hot air a few hours into the flight. On both flights the FA's were messing with a screen up in BF and finally got the temp under control. While this was going there was a strange noise coming from below our feet.

789 #64 is the cancelled UA SFO-SIN last night so I'm not sure why it says it cancelled 7/21 & 22 above. It cancelled 7/20 and is due to fly now because as of 10 minutes ago it is now operating the replacement UA 2061 SFO-SIN tonight that I'm on. Not encouraging at all!

Originally (up until 10 minutes ago), #50 was operating UA 2061 and #64 was operating UA 1 tonight. Now #64 is operating UA 2061 and #63 is operating UA 1.

#64 arrived from TLV on Tuesday morning. It wasn't due to fly to SIN until Wednesday night. They only just found the computer issue when the pilots got to the plane I guess.
