Are you connecting onwards from HKG?
Hey kacee.

Yes. Have an award ticket in First going on to BKK on TG. I checked in and have my BP already.

I spoke with TG and they added my UA flight info to my TG record. Really hoping a TG angel swoops down at the HKG arrival gate to hustle me to TG departure gate.

If...big if...United turns the 777 quickly and keeps to estimated arrival time, I have just under an hour. My guess is it will be much shorter by the time United gets it together.

I had been one crappy experience after another with me and UA this week.

Is it a UA-issued award ticket?

Yes. Separate award ticket from the revenue flight to HKG. Both UA issued.

If it becomes obvious that I am going to misconnect, I could use on board wifi to cancel it and grab a flight the next morning.

Any chance of canceling your revenue ticket and getting a refund then booking the whole thing on miles?

Sounds like the right plan. There are CX flights available to BKK using Avios Monday morning. Better deal than UA miles, better lounges at HKIA.

I recently came back from a trip. BOS-LHR-VCE and VCE-VIE-TGD on British Airways and on Austrian. I managed to see 5 UA Aircrafts sitting on the "remote stands" Three 767s and a 757 in LHR (I confirmed that they were cancelled after looking up their tail #) and a B767-400 in Venice. (same as above) UA REALLY needs to find a solution for all these MX Issues , glad I flew BA on the trip (in fact we were looking at that same flight back from venice but we chose to add on a trip to TGD.)

Yup for some reason they decided to use the 777 intended for FCO for the HKG flight instead.

Probably that combined with lower loads on FCO (so less pax to rebook).
