Shouldn't UA call the cancellation this morning due to aircraft availability because the aircraft wasn't in GDL?

I know i am really late, but ..
I was on the flight UA52 IAD to ZRH and after leaving IAD we lost cabinpressure! So are pilot tried to land in New York, but they sayd no. So we had to turn back to IAD, and wait there for over 8 hours!! For a "new" plain. Thats why you're plain was so delayed!

I was on the flight UA52 IAD to ZRH and after leaving IAD we lost cabinpressure! So are pilot tried to land in New York, but they sayd no. So we had to turn back to IAD, and wait there for over 8 hours!! For a "new" plain. Thats why you're plain was so delayed!

Why did UA88 (PEK-EWR) divert to SFO?

SFO is nowhere near the intended flight path. If it was a real emergency, they should have landed in Russia or returned to PEK. If it was not an emergency, seems like they should have continued to EWR.

Just how bad is 763/4 dispatch reliability? Looks like EWR-TXL has been cancelled 3 times in less than a month...

I was booked on 963 yesterday. They told us there had been a bird strike on the way in. They didn't find out it needed maintenance though until they had already bused us out for boarding.
Is claiming a bird strike the new way to avoid EC 261 claims when something else is discovered?
